How to Dry Clean Your Clothes at Home

Getting your clothes professionally dry cleaned every time there is an accident can get expensive. To avoid such unnecessary expenses you can follow the steps below to dry clean your clothes at home.

Every time we wear a delicate dress and it gets spoiled, we think of sending it to the dry cleaners. Some companies offer quality Dry Cleaning Services in Dubai but if you are in a situation where that is not possible either due to you being far away from home or maybe it’s the end of the month and you might not want to make any extra spending.

If that is the case then follow the steps below for a step-by-step dry cleaning process from home.

1. The first thing you need to make sure of is if the clothes you are planning on cleaning can even be dry cleaned or not. Check the tags on your outfits to check their washing instructions.

Clothing made from leather, suede, or fur should not be dry cleaned at home, you would need to avail of credible dry cleaning services in Dubai for professional handling.

2. Examine how tough the stains are on the fabric or if they require any prior stain remover.

If the stains are of mud or a food spill then you can dry-clean them but otherwise, you will need to avail a dry cleaning service.

If there are signs of grease then you will have to use a stain remover, but remember not to scrub the stain, or else it will damage the fabric before you have even moved to dry cleaning.

3. You will have to buy a dry cleaning kit from any utility store. They come with a bag that has the space of 2-3 clothing items. Don’t overcrowd the bag as the clothes need space to rotate in the bag.

4. Before closing the bag, place a dry cleaning sheet inside the bag, which comes with the kit. Now put the sealed bag in a dryer and spin for 30 minutes. Remember to use the timed setting instead of automatic rotation.

The more the clothes sit in the dryer, the more wrinkled they will become.

5. When the spin is complete, take the bag out and pull the clothes out of the bag. Hang them on a hanger so it lessens any wrinkles.

6. After examining if you find any leftover stains from the stain remover, you can use it again for a second time for better results.

You can wear them after ironing the clothes or put them away for later.

For better results, you will need to consult a Dry Cleaning Service in Dubai to get professional cleaning services. They also make sure the stains are completely removed and provide specified care required for different fabrics.
